PDF to CSV

Extract tabular data from a PDF into a CSV file using Stirling table conversion—not full-document OCR.

Drag and drop your PDF file here or click to browse

Supported: .pdf files only

Tips

Limit pages when you know the table location

Enter page numbers such as 1,2,3 to focus extraction; leave the field empty to process all pages.

Prefer digitally created tables

PDFs with real text and clear column layout extract more reliably than scanned photos of tables.

Review the CSV in a spreadsheet

Merged cells, multi-line headers, and nested layouts may need cleanup after download.

Table-oriented extraction

Uses Stirling’s PDF-to-CSV conversion to target tabular structure rather than dumping all page text.

Optional page filter

Send specific pageNumbers or omit them to process the whole document.

CSV download

Receive a CSV file you can open in Excel, Google Sheets, or other data tools.

What this tool does

PDF to CSV extracts table-structured data from a PDF and returns a CSV file for spreadsheets and analysis tools.

It is not a general text extractor and does not perform OCR on scanned pages.

How to use

Upload one PDF

Select or drag a .pdf file that contains tables you want to export.

Optionally set page numbers

Enter pages such as 1,2,3, or leave the field empty to include all pages.

Extract and download CSV

Run extraction and download the CSV when processing finishes.

Supported inputs and output

Input: one .pdf file and optional pageNumbers (defaults to all pages when omitted). Output: a CSV file.

Approximate upload limit from server middleware is about 100 MB.

Processing and privacy

Your PDF is posted to /api/converter/pdf-to-csv and processed on Toolomix servers through Stirling-PDF’s PDF-to-CSV conversion.

Toolomix does not publish a verified universal retention clock for every conversion. See the Privacy Policy for how uploads and logs are handled.

Limitations

Known limits

  • No OCR—scanned image-only PDFs often yield little or no table data
  • Not a full-text export of every word on the page
  • Complex, merged, or nested tables may need manual cleanup
  • Single PDF upload only—no batch of multiple files
  • No password / encrypted-PDF unlock field
  • Uploads near or above ~100 MB may be rejected by middleware

Troubleshooting

If the CSV is empty, confirm the PDF contains digital (selectable) table text, not only page images, and try limiting pageNumbers to the table pages.

If the request fails, check that the file is a valid unencrypted PDF and stays under the approximate 100 MB upload limit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does PDF to CSV use OCR?

No. There is no OCR step. The converter relies on tabular structure Stirling can read from the PDF. Scanned image-only pages often return little or no table data.

Is every word on the page exported?

No. This is table extraction to CSV, not a full-text dump of the document.

How do page numbers work?

Enter values such as 1,2,3 to limit pages. If you leave pageNumbers empty, the tool processes all pages by default.

Why is my CSV empty or nearly empty?

Common causes include scanned image-only PDFs, pages without detectable tables, or layouts that are not tabular. Try a digitally created PDF with clear columns.

Can I unlock encrypted PDFs here?

No. There is no password field. Remove protection before uploading.

Where is my file processed?

The PDF is uploaded over HTTPS to /api/converter/pdf-to-csv and converted on Toolomix servers via Stirling-PDF’s PDF-to-CSV path, then returned as CSV.

Can I convert multiple PDFs in one request?

No. Upload one PDF per extraction.
